Mapping Home in a Time of COVID-19 Pandemic
The education resources developed for Stay Home Stories were recognised by the Scottish Association of Geography Teachers in their publisher’s awards at their annual conference 2021. Find out more.
In partnership with the Royal Geographical Society (with the Institute of British Geographers) (RGS-IBG) school children studying key stages 2 –4 aged 7 – 16, will be invited to participate in a nationwide exercise mapping the changing nature of home spaces during COVID-19.
Children in the City of Liverpool, in association with local universities and National Museums Liverpool, will develop individual maps and related stories of their experiences, illustrating how they understand, renegotiate and articulate the meaning of home during and following lockdown.
This material will contribute to a virtual exhibition, learning resources (KS2-4) and a policy brief on children at home during COVID-19, addressing the potential implications of the crisis on children and young people’s wellbeing.
