Filiz is a London based translator, interpreter and researcher. She was born in Turkey and has lived in Switzerland, France and the UK, working as a language professional. She has translated a number of children's books and academic texts from English to Turkish and works closely with Turkish-speaking communities in London as a public sector interpreter. She is a collaborator with the Shadow Heroes translation collective and is currently developing a workshop within a series exploring race through translation. She has also volunteered with different community projects in London and is currently a volunteer with Stories and Supper.
